GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Grove City College Society for Science, Faith and Technology will host three book talks this fall on “Privacy Lost: How Technology is Endangering Your Privacy” by David Holtzman. The first discussion is set for Sept. 24.
All discussions will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Room of the Student Union on the Grove City College campus. The second and third will be on Oct. 16 and Nov. 27, respectively.
Holtzman has been a cryptographic analyst with the Navy, an intelligence analyst at the Defense Special Missile and Astronautics Center, a chief scientist at IBM, a senior technology analyst for Booz Allen Hamilton and founding CEO of a start-up company. In his book, he explains how technology has reduced privacy and discusses future impacts of the information age.
The group and the book talks are open to students, staff, alumni and friends. Those interested in participating may contact Dr. Kevin Seybold for a complimentary copy of the book. He may be reached at (724) 458-2002 or ksseybold@gcc.edu.
The Society will host a conference on privacy, technology and ethics in the spring semester.
