APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: A completed application will include: the application and $50 application fee, SAT and/or ACT scores, an official high school transcript, 2 letters of recommendation, and 2 essays (see application for the topics). In addition, serious applicants are strongly encouraged to schedule an on-campus interview. The half-hour interview, conducted by an Admissions Counselor, becomes a significant portion of your application. We recommend scheduling your interview at least two weeks in advance; to do so, you may call the Admissions Office at (724) 458-2100. Your application for admission does not need to be submitted prior to your interview. The Admissions staff begins interviewing high school juniors in April; Early Decision applicants should interview by December 1 and Regular Decision applicants should interview by March 1 of their senior year.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Grove City College requires two letters of recommendation. One must be from a teacher, guidance counselor, or principal. The other must be from a pastor, youth pastor, or someone who knows you well enough to provide a character reference. The College does not provide specific forms for the recommendation letters.
ACCEPTANCE DEPOSIT: A payment of $200.00 is required of all applicants at the time they accept admission to the College. This deposit is non-refundable if the applicant later decides not to enroll at the College during the year for which he/she was accepted. If the applicant enrolls at the College, $150.00 of this deposit is charged as a permanent matriculation fee, which is non-refundable. The remaining $50.00 is credited as a registration deposit for succeeding years.
SELECTING A MAJOR: Grove City College recommends that all applicants declare a major, since this is one of the many methods the College chooses to shape the freshman class. There are limited openings for each of the majors offered at the College, and each applicant may be considered for only one major.
UNDECIDED APPLICANTS: Students who are undecided about choosing a major may select either "Undecided - Liberal Arts" or "Undecided - Science and Engineering" and must choose a major by the end of their sophomore year. After enrolling at the College, a student may change his/her originally declared major pending department approval.

In addition to continuing this program, the College will grant academic credit to incoming freshmen that have successfully completed Advanced Placement courses under the College Entrance Examination Board and achieved a score of 4 or 5 on the appropriate Advanced Placement Tests. The departmental chairman will determine whether a student who earns a score of 3 should be given advanced credit and placement. Credit is not given for scores of 1 or 2.
INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE PROGRAM: Credit is generally awarded for the IB Higher level examination passed with grades of 5, 6, or 7. No credit is awarded for IB Subsidiary examinations.
