GROVE CITY, Pa. – Megan Lang, a 2008 Grove City College graduate, was recently honored by the American Chemical Society at its national meeting in April in New Orleans, La.
Lang, a chemistry major from Poland, Ohio, was awarded first place for outstanding undergraduate polymer poster presentation. Her topic, “Synthesis and Structure-Property Studies of Thiophene-Benzene Alternating Copolymers,” was based on work she carried out at the University of Kentucky during the summer of 2007.
The Division of Chemical Education sponsors the polymer component of the undergraduate poster session. The award is given by the PolyEd Committee, which is co-sponsored by the Polymer Division and the Division of Polymeric Materials: Science and Engineering.
A recipient of funding from the American Chemical Society to travel to New Orleans, Lang also received funding from Grove City College’s Swezey Scientific Instrumentation and Research Fund to attend the conference.
