GROVE CITY, Pa. – During Homecoming festivities, Oct. 13-15, on the Grove City College campus, the 2006 Queen and King were crowned at halftime of the Grove City College Wolverines’ game against the Thiel Tomcats.
Queen Alexis Zanias is a senior biology/secondary education major from Coplay, Pa. She is involved in Warriors for Christ, Orientation Board and the Mortar Board and Omicron Delta Kappa honoraries, as well as a member of Crown and Sceptre, Who’s Who Among American College Students, the women’s intramural Frisbee team and is a Grove City College Scholar Athlete. She is a daughter of Peter and Diane Zanias.
For just the second time in College history, a Homecoming King was named as well. John Tiernan is a senior math/secondary education major from Glenshaw, Pa. A son of David and Nancy Tiernan, he is involved in Omicron Xi and Inner City Outreach.
Other senior members of the Queen’s Court included: Kelly Chappell, a physics/secondary education major from Pittsburgh, Pa.; Leigh McAfee, an international business major from Tahoka, Texas; Amanda Muetzel, an English major from Peters Township, Pa.; and Kelsey Nee, an entrepreneurship major from Pittsburgh, Pa.
Other senior members of the King’s Court were: Kevin Norman, an electrical engineering major from Ellicott City, Md.; Luke Rumbaugh, an electrical engineering major from Pompton Plains, N.J.; Mark Sandvig, a communication studies major from Indianapolis, Ind.; and Jonathan Tennent, an English/communication major from Ipswich, Mass.
